To construct and maintain safe, affordable housing for eligible Te-Moak members. The Te-Moak Housing Authority will implement a “decent, safe and sanitary environment” by providing newly constructed or rehabilitated rental and homeownership opportunities to eligible members and assessing and addressing the member’s needs; Thereby educating families to be independent and encouraging self-sufficiency as Te-Moak Housing Authority take on new challenges and changes.

The mission statement of the Te-Moak Tribe clearly states that their goal is to both maintain their existing stock of units as well as to develop new housing. This in recognition of the fact that there are more Te-Moak Tribal members who are inadequately housed than there are those with decent, safe, and sanitary “environment” The most critical word in the entire mission statement is “environment” to housing. Environment is the totality of the unites in relation to one another, in relation to all other Te-Moak communities, in relation to the broader non-Indian community, and in relation to the lives of all the people who are Te-Moak Western Shoshone.
